Francesco Caleca

My great interest in natural hazards, in particular landslides and earthquakes, certainly encouraged me to take up the studies in geological sciences. During my academic path my focus was caught by disciplines such as geomorphology and engineering geology, especially the assessment and the mitigation of landslide risk were the topics which fascinated me and they still represent my research field.

B.Sc. in Geological Sciences at the University of Florence, 2017. Thesis Title: “Laser

scanning survey of Ponte Mediceo in Pontassieve/Pelago (FI)”.

M.Sc. in Geological Sciences and Technologies at the University of Florence, 2020. Thesis Title: “Quantitative risk assessment for slow moving landslides in the Arno River basin.”

Research scholarship at the Earth Sciences Department, University of Florence, 2020-2021. Activities: “Research and development of methodologies for landslide vulnerability assessment at the national scale”.

Ph.D. Student at the Earth Sciences Department, University of Florence, 2021-ongoing. Thesis Title: “Development of new methodologies for a multi-scale landslide quantitative risk assessment”.
