Lorenzo Milaneschi

I’m a passionate geologist and micropaleontologist.

I graduated with a master 's degree in “Geoscience and Applied Geology” at the University of Siena in 2021.

The aims of my PhD research project, trough collections of geological data on field survey, in particular  stratigraphic-sedimentological and paleontological data, is rebuild a proxy data set useful for the realization of a climate and  of paleogeographical-paleoenvoirnment evolutive model middle-Pliocene of Tuscany. The comparison of those models with the current climate phase of global warming could provide useful updates for the comprehension of modern climate changes and for future scenery.

Research Interest:

  1. Micropaleontology
  2. Sedimentology
  3. Paleoclimatology
  4. Mid-Pliocene Warm Period

Research Project:

“Comparative study of the warm event of the Middle Pliocene and comparisons with current climate variations on a global scale through sedimentological, litho- and biostratigraphic proxy data, from succession of Tuscan and circum-Mediterranean basins”

Supervisors:

Prof. Cornamusini Gianluca and Prof. Foresi Luca Maria

Working Office:

Dipartimento di Scienze Fisiche, della Terra e dell’Ambiente, Università di Siena
