Andrea Faggi

I’m a Geologist and paleontologist. Since I was a child, I got passionate about the evolution and the history of life on Earth, and an academic path in Earth Science was therefore a direct consequence of this passion. During my bachelor years I focused my studies on invertebrate paleontology, paleoclimatology, and paleoceanography with a thesis entitled “Planktonic foraminifers as proxy for the North Atlantic Oscillation: in the western area of the Strait of Sicily”. During my master degree I have instead concentrated my studies on vertebrate paleontology, in particular terrestrial mammals, integrating Earth Science courses with Natural Science and Biology exams. The aim of my PhD is the census of the many paleontological sites distributed throughout the Tuscan territory and the creation of a tool that can help professionals during urban planning in areas with high paleontological risk.

Bachelor’s degree in Geological Sciences at the University of Florence, 2018. Thesis Title: “Planktonic foraminifers as proxy for the North Atlantic Oscillation: in the western area of the Strait of Sicily”.

Master's Degree in Geological Sciences and Technologies at the University of Florence, 2021. Thesis Title: “New studies on Lower Pleistocene fossil rhinoceroses: the contribution of the specimen from Poggio Rosso (Valdarno)”.
